Ad planning

How to plan a small ad budget

A simple ad budget guide for independent creators and small shops. Choose one goal, prepare your page and agree on a clear plan before an ad runs.

MagiSoft Promotion Network's creative-hub artwork, with places for games, music, art and shops.

You have made a game, a song, a video or a shop. Now you want more people to find it. A small ad can be one part of that plan.

Start with a clear goal and a budget you choose. You do not need to promote all your work at once. Start with one good picture. Add a short message and one useful link.

Choose one thing to share

Pick the page you most want people to see. You could share a game page, a song or a video. You could show one product in your shop. Give the ad one job.

For example, an ad for a song could ask people to listen. An ad for a game preview could ask them to try the demo. Keep the words honest about what is ready.

  • What are you sharing?
  • Who might enjoy it?
  • What should they do after they click?

Set the size of your first plan

Choose how much you want to spend before you book an ad. Include any work you may need for a picture or a better page. A clear page is part of the ad plan, too.

Tell the ad service your limit. Ask what can fit within it. Write down the full price and the dates. Note where the ad will run. Start with one small plan. Review it before you book another one.

Ask whether the sites fit

Think about who visits each site. Give them a reason to care about your work. People who play games may also enjoy music, videos, art, products and shops. The fit still depends on what you are sharing.

A local shop has a different need from an online game. If you serve one area, say which area. Ask whether the sites make sense for that plan before you spend money.

Agree on the details first

At MagiSoft Promotion Network, small budgets are welcome. Send us your link and tell us what you want to share. We review the project first. Then we talk about the picture, message, sites, dates and price.

Sending a message does not book an ad or take a payment. Ask how the results will be checked and what those results mean. A click can lead someone to your page. It does not promise a sale, a new fan or a player.
